Basic Lead and Globus Fairs, co-organizers of DISCOP Istanbul, announced today significant pre-registration numbers for the sixth edition of its annual market, reflecting the continued strength of the CEE, CIS, MENA and Gulf countries on the global stage.
More than 100 distribution and production companies will be taking part in DISCOP Istanbul (1st to 3rd March), alongside 400 acquisition and programming executives representing close to 200 broadcasters and content distribution platforms that service this 65-country strong marketplace.
“We are proud to hold this sixth edition of DISCOP Istanbul, once again showcasing an important strategic world region for the commerce of multiplatform content. Despite recent regional economic and geopolitical tensions, Istanbul continues to be a city that offers a vital global crossroads for television and pop culture,” says Patrick Zuchowicki, CEO of Basic Lead.
Scripted and unscripted TV series are set to take center stage with a whole day, The Format Day (1st March), dedicated to the challenges in adapting these storylines and concepts so they remain relevant across diverse markets and cultures. The day will feature a morning conference program co-organized with FRAPA to be followed by afternoon presentations of innovative formats showing strong export potential.
DISCOP Istanbul focuses on Turkey, CEE, MENA and CIS countries, which together comprise one of the world’s most dynamic marketplaces, contributing to 20% of all global film, TV content and adaptation rights sales. The market welcomes exhibitors and delegates representing global and regional content distributors and producers, broadcasters, Pay TV platforms, mobile and VOD operators.
